World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and picked up a record eleven million pounds in prize money.
She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
