The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, its talented performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards during the show.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by experts.
